Day 2: May 25: “ Immigration in Philadelphia: Past and Present”
Today’s Leader: Mary Higgins
Morning: Take train to meet at Jefferson Station at 9:30. Walk through Chinatown and stop for a pastry and bubble tea. Walk to Philadelphia History Museum at 15 S. 7th St. See exhibits and film on immigration in Philadelphia. Travel via cab or uber to Washington Ave. and Columbus Blvd. for “Immigration Scavenger Hunt” guided by Mrs. Higgins.
The Italian Market
Lunch: 9th Street, “Italian Market” (lunch to be provided). Choices include Vietnamese, Mexican or Italian foods. We will bring food for picnic lunch in park.
National Museum of Jewish History
Afternoon: Visit to National Museum of Jewish History, 101 S. Independence Mall, and view the Immigration exhibition. Depart city by train approximately 3pm.
